GEAR CLUB #59: Poster for the monthly event Gear Club in Stockholm hosted by Thomas Savage.
NEVER PRINTED II: A tour poster made years ago. I think the tour got canceled and naturally also this print. Elephants never run out of style do they?

THE START FOR ME: Another cover for the Manikins on Plastic Idol Records, this time in b/w. A lettering I tried to put on many sleaves but never got to work. For this one it came out just like I wanted it. The 7" features two exclusive tunes from the Corocodiles sessions.

I WANT MY BABY DEAD: 7" from the Manikins out on the Philadelphia label FDH. 100 on red wax 400 on black. This print also made it too tees to suport the bands US tour.

THE FLIP-TOPS: This cover was printed for the record label Plastic Idol in 3 colours. I always wanted to work with dices and for this 7" titled Dangerous Game I gave it a shot. You know the saying; "luck in the game, bad luck in love"? I aim for the oposite.

EUROPEAN TOUR SINGLE 2007: Band: The Rip Offs. Product: One sided 7" on clear wax. Record label: Squoodge. Limited edition: 150 copies (+500 with cover made by the Rip Offs). Idea: Old wedding photo of a quartet wedding with drawn masks on their heads.
BABY OBSESSION: You'll find this Lightning Beat Man-cover on a limited edition 7" on Squoodge Records . After making the cover the feedback I got from Beat Man was via Roland at Squoodge Records that e-mailed "Beat Man says the babys head has to have a wrestling mask". And off cource that completed the cover in the most perfect way.

ANOTHER WASTED POSTER: Great line-up for this event! Some of the best Swedish punk bands at the moment. Another Wasted Night – well, all I could think of was glue. Naturally The Ramones song was ringing in my head during the five days I was working on this one. Big thanks to Kaj at Wasted Sounds and Joel at Denimzine for making this night into something out of the ordinary.

SPEND THE NIGHT ALONE: One of the greatest people I worked with is Mario who runs the label Plastic Idol from Sacramento, CA. He is truly into the details and put a lot of energy into his work. On this 7”, printed with black and gold on white, Mario’s effort helped me to one of the best jobs I’ve done. Also worth mentioning is the B-side on this 7”. It features the song Still Afraid of Girls which truly is worth the money (even if you have to get it on Ebay).

MARKED MEN POSTER: Once again handed an assignment with the limitation to work with only black and white. Probably the best band at the moment in the states (except maybe for the Black Lips). The venue is a classic scene in Nyköping and since it ones was an old factory for butching animals the name is Slakthuset (the Butchers House). So all I had to do was adding red paint with a broken brush on all posters. Probably the closest one will ever get to Jackson Pollock.

BAD PAPERS: The small German label Squoodge Records put out a 7”, a one sided 7” and a 5” of this classic styled punk song. So limited it was sold out long before it even was sent to the printer. The aim was to get the covers to work together but yet have a unique touch to each and one of them. The idea to put money in panties, bras and briefs was inspired by Germany in general and Reperbahn in particular. The backside of this cover is one of my favorite designs.

TOO FUCKED UP TO DREAM: This LP by Local Oafs has been called “The best Swedish punk album ever”. I can only agree. I worked close with Nero/Eros (lead singer of the band) with the idea for this cover. Featured is also a large collage of the bands history in pictures. Among the more bizarre moments captured is the show where they played in diapers and that party when Mats Solo made a tattoo with a non disinfected tattoo needle bought in South America on Shawn Michaels arm. We had a great time putting all those memories together.

THE MANIKINS TOUR POSTER: The Manikins asked me to come up with a poster for their “Beat on a brat tour 2006". Baseball bat oh oh oh oh!

T-SHIRT: A tour t-shirt for the Manikins. Not much to comment on this one. The decapitated photo is one of my favorite designs so naturally it had to go on a tee.

HITS MEN INTE LÄNGRE: Rock bands has for ever and ever been taking classic photos with the band members lined up in front of the camera. For this 7” I did the same thing only with the slight difference by decapitate the band members and putting their heads in their hands. A fitting picture to this 7” called “Hits men inte längre” (“Hits - but no longer”).

STEFFEN BASHO-JUNGHANS: Poster and flyer for a gig arranged by the nice guys at Koloni in Gothenburg, Sweden. The picture is Steffens head on a Mexican skeleton's body.

T-SHIRTS I: This print was inspired by a t-shirt for the Cincinnati Art School that I found in a thrift store in Chicago. It took several hours to get all the lines to link with one another.

THE SCHOOL UNIFORMS: The School Uniforms consists only of one Harrison Allen from Grand Junction, Colorado. The cover drawing is by Mattias Sköld, one of the greatest illustrators Sweden has to offer. I hand picked out the text from a letter my father had smuggled out from the Soviet Union under a trip my family made there when I was three years old. The original letter was about the hard conditions witch the Russian population lived under. It was a hard time to dissect the words, literally, and put them back into new ones. Though it all made sense in some weird way.
